Said goodbye to an old friend today. He and I were brothers in the Knights of Columbus. He, our financial secretary for twenty plus years. When I became a new member he took my first years dues and produced my membership card . Later when I was Grand Knight of our council, he guided me through the process of getting reports in on time. Every State Convention he was there for me again, showing me the ropes. We are brothers who take an oath to assist any brother sick or in distress. He never failed to live up to his oath. Last night at the rosary service to pray for his soul, we fourth degree members stood guard at his urn. Today again in full regalia they came from afar to participate in the honor guard to show their respect and give him honor. There was plenty of laughter during his eulogy because that’s how he was always quick with the wit. We will miss you old Donkey, Don Kee. May God have mercy on your soul.
